Travel Funding for SFC Members
One of the goals of the conference is to bring as many people together as possible from all corners of the organization. Thus, our biggest budget concern is travel.
With this mind, we’ve put together this list of criteria to use as guidelines for distributing travel funding:
- The student is a member of an active chapter (established with University or applying to be a real club) and has done at least one event or is planning to do at least one event.
- Will be enrolled as a student after 2008-2009 school year.
- Has a specific project, presentation, interest that we can tie into the programming.
- Can get travel without trouble (attain visa for intl, etc.)
- Can arrange housing independently of SFC (exception for intl folk)
The maximum available funding to an individual is $300. Special consideration is made for students traveling from outside the continental U.S.
The deadline for reimbursement is Monday September 29. Please do not delay!
When you’ve booked your ticket, please send your e-receipt to board [at] freeculture.org. Thank you.
One final note, consider extending your return flight to October 13 as the Bay Area is beautiful, it’s a holiday, and you deserve it!
